I am currently studying for a graduate degree in Western Veterinary Herbal Medicine.
I love working with our clients and their pets as well as our amazing staff. When not at Bortell Animal Hospital I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and enjoying nature. Andrea and I have two daughters. One who attends Flagler College in St. Augustine Florida and our other daughter will start this fall at the University of Illinois. We also have a full house of cats and dogs.

Hello, my name is Traci. I’ve worked at Bortell Animal Hospital since August 2012. I am one of the veterinary assistants. When I am not at work, I am a full-time mom to two wonderful kids. I also have a diabetic cat, and, thanks to my son, two guinea pigs. My hobbies include painting, baking, and photography.
Hi, I am Kristi. I am a mother of 3 beautiful girls and a wife to my amazing husband. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, fur babies, and friends. In the summer, you will likely find me at the pool. I also love taking pictures.
Hi, I’m Bradley! I am a veterinary assistant and receptionist. I am currently in school to pursue my dream of becoming a certified veterinary technician. I love working hand in hand with other members of the veterinary team and our clients to make sure our patients get the best care possible. Your pets are members of the family and deserve the best. When I am not working, I love training and spending time with my two adorable toy Australian shepherds, Milo and Theo.
Veterinary Assistant, Kennel Assistant
Hey, I’m Madison! I am one of the veterinary assistants and kennel assistants. I’m from Southern Illinois but currently attend school at Illinois State University. I’m finishing up my third year in the pre-veterinary program. In the future, I plan to become a veterinarian with a focus on large animals.
Receptionist, Veterinary Assistant
Hi, I’m Rory! I am a receptionist who sometimes helps out as a veterinary assistant. Animals have always played a big role in my life, starting when I helped my mother with her small, non-profit animal rescue. Having the opportunity to work at an animal hospital is a dream come true. When not working, I enjoy painting writing and spending time with my own animals, two cats (Birdie and June), two dogs (Sage and Primrose), and two beta fishes.
Client Liaison and Greeter
Hey everybody, I’m Oliver! My siblings and I were rescued and brought to Bortell Animal Hospital when we were just wee little kittens. While my siblings all found homes, I was the last one left. Andrea and Dr. Bortell loved my bubbly personality so much they decided to promote me to the clinic greeter and I have made my home here. When I’m not keeping the staff in line or greeting customers, I enjoy sleeping, sunbathing, and bird watching. My job is super tough sometimes!
